About Last Mile Transportation
Our Last Mile Transportation team ensures e-commerce orders move quickly from Target’s 1,400+ stores and fulfillment hubs directly to our guests’ homes. As the largest true Omnichannel shipper, we manage high volumes with precision, balancing day-to-day detail with strategic planning to provide best-in-class delivery experiences.
About the Role: Seasonal Transportation Yard Coordinator
In this position, you’ll manage daily trailer movement within Target’s Distribution Center yards, ensuring smooth operations while prioritizing safety. Key responsibilities include:
Promoting a “safety-first” culture and enforcing safety protocols with carriers and drivers
Maintaining accurate trailer records in the yard management system
Coordinating trailer admission, movement, and release schedules
Communicating trailer needs and progress with Distribution Center executives
Conducting trailer inventories and ensuring preventive maintenance checks
Partnering with First Mile Transportation to balance trailer pools and freight flow
This role is dynamic and may evolve with Target’s operational needs.
About You
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18+
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience in truck yards, traffic management, or distribution centers (preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
